The validity of Covid antigen tests before arrival in Spain has been reduced today from 48 hours to 24 hours.
The change was published in the official government gazette today.
Until now, antigen detection test certificates whose sample had been obtained within 48 hours before arrival in Spain were accepted as valid.
The resolution of the General Directorate of Health regarding the health controls to be carried out at the entry points of Spain highlights that this decision results from a recommendation of the European Union in this regard.
PCR tests can still be done up to 72 hours before arrival.
The change will mainly affect visitors from EU countries. EU visitors to Spain can enter with vaccination certificates or a negative covid test.
