August was another tough month for the Canary Islands.  More counties added the Islands to their travel blacklists.

How are the Canary Islands doing in comparison to other regions in Spain?

There were 2,442,999 international arrivals into Spain in August 2020.  That was 7,678,986 or 75.9% fewer than August 2019.

Top 5 tourist arrivals into Spain in August 2020.

France 863,665.  That is 57.2% fewer than Aug 2019.

Germany 298,217.  That is 73.5% fewer than Aug 2019.

The UK 256,528.  That is 88.2% fewer than Aug 2019.

The Netherlands 151,308.  That is 66.7% fewer than Aug 2019.

Belgium 119,284. That is 61% fewer than Aug 2019.

Catalonia 459,271 visitors. 80.5% fewer than Aug 2019.

Balearic Islands 453,794 visitors.  79.9% fewer than Aug 2019.

Valencian Region.  430,092 visitors.  66.2% fewer than Aug 2019.

Andalusia.  364,111 visitors. 73.9% fewer than Aug 2019.

The Canary Islands.  240,666 visitors.  76.9% fewer than Aug 2019.

Madrid.  60,816 visitors.  88.8% fewer than Aug 2019.

La Palma 21,7183.3% fewer than Aug 2019.

Fuerteventura did the best of the islands in August.  It had the lowest decline of all the Islands at 61.5%.

Lanzarote took the biggest hit with international arrivals down 84.3% v Aug 2019.
